Estimados Colegas ,
Desde 1940 y durante los años de existencia de la FIA, nuestros miembros, muchos de ellos representantes de las Instituciones de los Abogados de las Américas, han siempre participado y han colaborado en el Hemisferio Interamericano.
Estimo que nos encontramos en un punto crucial en la trayectoria de la FIA y que se nos ofrece una magnífica oportunidad de engrandecerla, y hacer de ella la verdadera voz del Estado de Derecho, de la Gobernabilidad y de la defensa de los Derechos Humanos en el Continente Americano, así como de enaltecer la noble profesión de la abogacía. Para lograr estas metas, es indispensable contar con un adecuado marco estructural, en el que la base sean sus miembros quienes trabajen en conjunto con los directivos, y juntos trabajemos por dar a conocer a la FIA, por buscar que seamos más los profesionales del Derecho que participemos en ella, y todos nos involucremos en hacer realidad el sueño de una América donde prevalezca la democracia y el ejercicio del Estado de Derecho , los Derechos Humanos y del Derecho al Acceso a la Justicia para todos, como herramienta para lograr la paz social.

During the years of existence of the IABA since 1940, many of our members are representatives of the Bar Associations of the Americas, have participated and collaborated in the Inter-American Hemisphere Rule of Law development.
I believe that we are at a crucial point in the history of the IABA and that we are offered a magnificent opportunity to enhance it, and make it the true voice of the Rule of Law, Governance and the defense of Human Rights in the American Continent, as well as to praise the noble profession of the legal profession. To achieve these goals, it is essential to have an adequate structural framework, in which the base is its members, who work in conjunction with the IABA Officers, and together we work to make the IABA known, by seeking to be more Inter- American Lawyers getting involved in realizing the dream of the Americas where Democracy prevails as well as the exercise of the Rule of Law, Human Rights and the Right to Access to Justice for all, as a tool to achieve social peace.
